Cornwall Founders Club

The Cornwall Founders Club second meeting will take place on Friday 17th April 11am – 12.30pm.

There will be a fireside chat with Julian Chenoweth who will share his experiences and knowledge of his 5 successful exits, so far! This event promises to reveal many interesting thoughts from Jules and experiences over the past 21 years.

Julian began his career as a Royal Marine Commando before working as a jungle contractor in South America. After returning to Cornwall, he launched his first business, Maen Karne Aggregates Ltd, in 2005. Over the next eleven years, he grew it into a regional operation, diversifying across the construction materials sector and scaling it to a turnover of £2 million per month. He achieved this through the 2008–2012 credit crunch without an overdraft, investors, or external cash—relying solely on disciplined reinvestment and organic growth.

By 2014, he had identified a potential exit and strategically targeted that company’s market share. The transaction completed on 1 January 2017, when he sold his entire stake in the group he had built.

With capital behind him, he went on to build—and later exit by 2025—the following businesses:

Chenoweth Trading Co Ltd
CTC Waste
TR2 Recruitment

He also developed a business park and several other firms that remain in his portfolio.

Together with two partners, he founded Recycle It Global Ltd, raising over £10 million from a mix of high‑net‑worth individuals and strategic investors to build a global waste‑recycling business. He served as operations lead and chairman. In 2025, recognising both a new investment round and his own desire to change direction, he executed a strategic in‑house exit—his fifth—timed to maintain stability within the business while maximising his share value.

Since June 2025, he has taken on Rhos Construction Ltd, scaling it from £1.2 million annual turnover to a multi-million figure by the end of the year. He has also launched an accounting company and is in the process of acquiring a recruitment business.

In addition, he has reopened Rhosnoweth Developments Ltd, capitalised it, and acquired land and development properties valued at £4 million, with plans to grow the portfolio over the coming years.

He has built wealth both personally and through various limited entities, each structured for different purposes and outcomes. His motivation has never been purely financial; he is driven by challenge, purpose, and the opportunity to build. He sits on several boards and consults across the UK.

His track record demonstrates a highly diverse approach to raising capital, deploying capital, and executing exits. No two ventures have followed the same pattern, and he has never repeated a growth strategy. The breadth of his experience is both extensive and deeply informative.

Cornwall Founders Club is just for founders of equity businesses. It’s not a general business networking event and this exclusivity means the conversations can be more open and frank discussing topics that might be unsuitable for others.

By founders, for founders.

There are a very limited number of tickets for other support organisations who we partner with and also limited sponsorship opportunites.
